Hi Everyone!
I’d like to apologize for my absence from not only my blog, but yours. We have some family members who evacuated ahead of Hurricane Florence staying with us. They’ve been here since Tuesday, and things around here are quite chaotic and stressful. I hope they’ll be able to return home and things will return to normal soon.
I just wanted pop in quickly to explain my absence and let you know I’ve been thinking of you. I miss being in touch with all of you! I hope to be back to my regular posting schedule by next week.
This experience has really reminded me of something this week. As you know, my blog is about thriving, not just surviving, with fibromyalgia. The truth is, though, that sometimes all you can do at certain times is go into survival mode and get through whatever you’re trying to get through.
That’s definitely been the case with me this week. I’m just working to survive day by day, and I’m okay with that.
There are times that we may feel we’re wading through floodwaters or trying to avoid blowing away in the wind. If you’re in one of those “storms” where you feel you’re just surviving each day, that’s okay. Just put on your survival suit and hold on. The storm will pass and you’ll have the chance to move forward again once it’s over.
Wishing you all a wonderful week, and praying for any of you who may have been affected by the hurricane.
Blessings,
~Terri
I love this! First, you are doing what you need to be doing. Second, thank you for letting us know what’s up so we can better know how to pray for you. Third, you reminded all of us that at times things beyond our control, storms (actual storms or storms of life) occasionally knock out our strength and power. And once that’s addressed we will be back. Take care of you and your family. Love them hard. Be Christ’s hands and feet. And all the while, know you are loved and prayed for.
Thank you so much for your beautiful comment Cheyenne! I appreciate your prayers more than you know. With my husband still recovering and chaos all around us, we can definitely use all the prayers we can get. Love and hugs to you sweet sister!
Right back at you my dear friend. I will keep praying. 💜
Thank you!❤️
Reblogged this on Dream Big, Dream Often.
Thanks so much Danny, I appreciate it! I hope you and your family made out well through the storm.
Even in the midst of your own flooding, you offer encouragement. What a woman! Take care of yourself and your company, Terri.
Thank you so much V.J.! I look forward to getting back to the blogosphere soon. I’m missing your poetry!
May God give you with the strength and energy to do all that is on your plate and bless you richly as you are blessing others…………
Thank you so much Wendi! He certainly has so far. I’ve been praying He’ll work on my heart; it’s been a long week and I’m trying to be nice.😊
working through pain and exhaustion takes a toll on everyone’s inner-person……..May God show your heart what a huge blessing you are to those who are around you.
Thank you so much sweet friend! Hugs to you!
Sending good wishes and prayers for you and your family to remain safe and well.🌼
Thank you so much Brigid! The storm is moving on out, but our family can’t get back home yet due to flooded highways. We hope the floodwaters will recede soon and they can get back.
I hope so too. 🌼

Thank you so much Christy! I really appreciate your prayers. We’re good now, but our family is having trouble getting home due to flooding. We hope it’ll recede soon so they can get back.
Sending lots of hugs. xxx
Thank you so much Heather! Hugs to you and Dizzy too!
You and your family are in my thoughts. I live in North Carolina and even though the storm devastated the coast and Charlotte was under watch, my husband and I only saw strong winds and rain, but we didn’t lose power. My in-laws had lots of trees fall and they lost power. This hurricane really was terrible and my heart goes out to all that lost loved ones and or their homes.
Thank you so much Alyssa! I’ve been thinking of you because I know you live in NC. I’m glad to hear you and your family are okay, though I’m sorry about your in-laws losing their trees and power. Have a great week – hope to be back on here with you guys soon!
You are more than welcome Terri! I think the storm died down by the time it reached us. We do have tree branches down, but it isn’t a big deal. My in-laws only lost power for an hour or so, but they are perfectly fine!
Oh I forgot to say something very important! Terri, even going through all you do in life, you are an incredibly courageous woman with a heart of gold! I hope things get a little easier for you soon and I hope you are taking care of yourself and resting when you need to. YOU are the most important person and you can’t help others if you do not take care of YOU!! All my love always Terri!
That’s so sweet of you to say Alyssa, but I sure don’t think my heart is what it needs to be right now. I’m just so concerned about my husband and his lack of rest and recovery time that I’m spending a lot of time worried and frustrated. Although I try not to let it show, I’m sure it probably does in some ways. Hugs to you!
I think you are a wonderful person Terri and you do have a very loving heart! I am so sorry you are concerned about your husband. I think it is in our nature to worry about those we love, especially when they do not get the rest they need. Try to get the rest you need, worrying and stress can cause us so many issues. Please take care of yourself. I wish there was more I could do for you. LOTS of love and virtual hugs to you my dear!
Thank you so much Alyssa! I really appreciate your kind words, support, and friendship. Love and hugs to you too!
You my dear are more than welcome! I will always offer as much support and encouragement as I can!!
I’m glad your family are all okay and that you’re safely together. And you’re right, sometimes all we can do is take care of the basics and survive, and that’s okay, too. I do hope things settle soon and that they can safely return home. Sending hugs – Don’t forget to take a breath and have a break when things get too manic, Terri.
Caz xx

I’ve got my hand outstretched, if you need something to hold onto
