Two pairs of hands holding a wet clay pot with text overlay: Mindfulness Quotes

[Wellness Wednesday] Mindfulness Quotes

Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! My plan for this week was to write about whether meditation can improve wellness, but I went down the research “rabbit hole” and found waayyy too much information to get through it all in time. I will write the post, but in the meantime I thought I would share some Mindfulness quotes with you.

According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, a leading expert on mindfulness,  “Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.”  I would add that it’s noticing and appreciating your life, having compassion for yourself and others, and realizing that we are a part of something much bigger than ourselves.

    1. Thank you so much G! I’m glad you like them. I hope you’re doing well. Have you started seeing any new birds in your yard yet? None of our migratory ones have started showing up here yet. It probably has something to do with how hot it has stayed. It was 95 degrees here today!

      1. We are hot & humid compounded by a drought. Not much is stirring and it is far to dangerous to sit out in this heat. Maybe things will pick up when it cools down. g

      2. Yes, definitely stay safe in that heat and humidity. I hope it cools off some for you soon.

  1. Loved them all Terri but the one by Anne Lamott is what resonated with me the most. Sometimes life affirming quotes are all I need to get me in a positive frame of mind. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thanks so much Mark! That one by Anne Lamott really resonated with me too. Isn’t it amazing how just reading or hearing one well-timed quote can uplift you and change your mindset? Hope you’re doing well, dear friend. Blessings to you!
