Does gratefulness come naturally to you, or is it something that you have to work at?
As we talked about in Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude, being grateful may not always come naturally to us, but if we can cultivate an ‘attitude of gratitude’ it can have positive implications for our overall wellbeing. According to Harvard Health, “Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.”
With that in mind, I thought I’d share a few gratitude quotes with you.
I hope some of these resonate with you, and remind you of all you have to be grateful for.
Blessings,
~Terri

Awesome quotes Terri. Thank you so very much for sharing! 🙂 I am grateful for you 🙂
Thank you so much Wendi! I’m so very grateful for you, too, sweet friend! You always make my day. Hugs!
🙂 awww thank you so much. it is always a pleasure to visit.
Beautiful quotes, thank you for sharing them. The small things that you look back on and see are actually the bigger things, that struck me. I’m so much more appreciative of those small things these days since dealing with chronic illness. The Barth quote is an interesting one. I think there’s so much guilt we can experience when thinking of taking time out or being happy that I hadn’t considered joy itself as being a form of gratitude. xx
Thanks so much Caz! As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really learned just how true the Brault quote is. The things I remember and appreciate most are the little things. The Barth quote struck me when I read it as well – being joyful really does show that we are grateful. Like you I hadn’t considered that before. Hugs!
My recent practice of being a watchful observer of myself and seeing myself in the moment has highlighted how I have everything I need in this moment and fills me with gratitude. Lovely, uplifting post & quotes Terri!
Thank you so much Marie! I think it’s wonderful that you’re able to see your blessings and feel grateful. I hope you’re doing well sweet friend – I’ve gotten behind with my blog reading, so I’m playing catch-up now. Sending hugs your way!
Thanks Terri, it really is the simple pleasures! On a flare, guess I’m still not good at knowing my boundaries or accepting my limitations but getting there!! Likewise here Terri, well behind with WP always chasing my tail!! Warm hugs to you Terri for your eternal kindness! Xx
I hope your flare subsides soon sweet friend. Have a lovely weekend!
I love the second quote the most!
Thanks so much for sharing Michelle! I love that one too. As I told Caz, the older I get, the more I realize it’s the small things that are the most meaningful. Blessings to you!
Thank You for sharing the Gratitude Quotes!!! 💘 Geri Wright
Thanks for reading, Geri! I hope you found something that spoke to you. Blessings to you!
Thanks for sharing this Terri, I really needed this.
Thanks for reading Mark! I hope they helped. Blessings to you dear friend!
Great post, Terri! Counting blessings is something I do regularly as it helps me fall back to sleep. 😊 Can’t explain it but often if I try to think of ten things I’m grateful for I’ll drift off before reaching the tenth. I also think the more you appreciate your life, the happier you’ll be. Wishing you and yours a lovely Thanksgiving! 🌸
Thanks so much Mishka! I love that you count your blessings before you sleep. What a great way to help you fall asleep and help reinforce those feelings of gratefulness by sleeping on them. I think I’m going to try it! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! Hugs!
You have some wonderful quotes here, Terri! It definitely helps to improve our lives to focus on the good things we still have to enjoy. I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing, low pain Thanksgiving surrounded by people you love. Xx
Thank you so much Michelle! I agree that focusing on what we have rather than what we don’t improves our lives in so many ways. Wishing you and David a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! Hugs!
Great quote! Being grateful for all the little things around us is a key to happiness. I have uploaded an article on my website written by my daughter titled things to be grateful for – https://authorjoannereed.net/things-to-be-grateful-for/ – Feel free to check it out!
Thanks so much Joanne! I agree that gratitude is key to finding joy and contentment in our lives. I popped by and checked out Maya’s article – quite an impressive job by someone so young. Is she planning to follow in your footsteps? Blessings to you!
Feeling grateful Terri for your kind words 😀🙏! Will pass on your compliment to Maya. She is a natural. When she was really young she never went anywhere without a book! She has a great ability to put her thoughts on paper! So I am really happy to be able to offer her a platform where she can express herself and share her thoughts. Blessing to you!
